Description
We sang a song in church this past Sunday called "How He Loves Us." Which, don't get me wrong, is a fantastic and moving song. However, there's a line in it that says "So Heaven meets Earth like a sloppy wet kiss" and it completely took me out of the moment. A sloppy wet kiss? What?? I couldn't help but to start giggling in the middle of the song. What a mental image!
Thus, this picture. This is what I think of each time I hear that line in the song. The sky kissing the ground all sloppy-like and wet. Kinda gross.
Found out doing a search that they have since changed the lyrics to an "unforeseen kiss"--which certainly flows better and is less jarring, in my opinion. But our church continues to sing the original version. No big deal; I'm getting used to it.

This is amusing. I kinda had the same feeling when I first heard the song, and for the record, the change is not official, just people not liking the imagery. I personally like the phrase, and had never heard 'unforeseen' used. I did recently hear 'sloppy wet kiss' replaced with 'passionate kiss,' which make sense when the song is being sung around a group of about 400 teenagers.
